Good to go is a Visit Britain standard designed to give assurances to visitors that the premises which have been Self-Assessed are of a standard which complies to Government Guidelines on Covid-19 with respective national guidance, including social distancing and cleanliness protocols which have been implemented at Skysail. In England, the business aligns with the UK Government’s official guidance for the sector including ‘Working Safely during COVID-19: Visitor Economy’. It is an ‘alert’ system ensuring that Skysail is signed-up to the standard, Skysail and its house-keeping and visitors alike will be notified appropriately if there are changes to the official guidance. Random spot-checks are taking place to ensure this business is adhering to the guidance.
HM Gov have decided all hospitality businesses have to display QR codes for customers/guests to scan, to work with the track and trace app on your mobile phone. This is located on the wall in the hall at Skysail.
We thank you for social distancing at Skysail and for using and adhering to the high standards we maintain. Hand Sanitizer is provided at this house and additional cleaning regimes have been put into place to keep you safe. We also have clear guidelines at the house for your continued Safety. A certificate is available at the house for inspection. Thank you. Laura Wood

Mr. Richard. L. Group of 5
- Cleanliness Rating – Excellent
- Did you find the welcome pack useful – Very much so
- Overall rating – Excellent
- Comments: The view is incredible. I enjoyed sitting, watching the sea enjoying my breakfast cup of tea it was so relaxing. The open plan upstairs is beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed walks around the headland to local villages. The walk down and up from Mevagissey was easier than it looks, but booking restaurants is essential. We spent a couple of days in Portmellon kayaking and paddle-boarding, it was lovely, but not very big and no good spaces / seats for people to wait if not doing the sea sports.

Dear Guests,
Skysail will is looking forward to welcoming you. Visit Cornwall has an on-going updated list of attractions that are open and will tell you how to book, mostly on-line and with timed entry.
We are giving you a welcome pack that contains all your consumables, this limits contact with the items in the house to just one person. This will be ready for you for your arrival. We also are supplying sanitizer alcohol gel at the entrance. We will monitor you via track and trace according to guidlines and our cleaners are giving us an enhance cleaning regime for Covid-19. We have a symptom checker at the house and guidelines to follow in case you are worried about any symptoms.
Mevagissey is coping well and restaurants are offering meals and takeaways and some additional lovely fayre is being offered as the entrepreneurship of the shops is ensuring that you can buy local. Moores offer just about every type of fresh item from veg, cream, fruit, cakes, butter, meat and much more including many deli items. The Post office caters for all your general needs including magazines and newspapers, there is the bakery and the pasta shop to name but a few. All the shops are located right in the middle of Mevagissey. Lobbs farm shop, typical fresh produce but fantastic meat, is at the entrance to The Lost Gardens of Heligan and you can go there without visiting the gardens if you wish.
Building work has resumed next door just 6 weeks ago out of the blue with no prior notice, however the house has no direct overlooking windows except for the dining room and so we hope you will not be disturbed.
I hope you are keeping well and safe and we are very much looking forward to seeing you.

Kind regards,
Laura Wood

Comments Off on “Poldark” and “Bad Education” films at Mevagissey
Cornwall was the main location for the remake of Winston Graham’s Poldark with Aidan Turner in the title role then followed the new film version of Bad Education a film for TV.
The Bad Education Movie sees comedian Jack Whitehall back in the role of Alfie Wickers, “the worst teacher ever to grace the British education system”.
The 26-year old is joined by the rest of the show’s cast, including Sarah Solemani, Mathew Horne and Harry Enfield. The village and harbour shops and locations have been used in many of the scenes and given the locals a lot of interest and amusement! Here you can see them filiming on the quayside.
